How booking works

Booking a Greek ferry ticket through Ferryfast is done online and takes a few minutes. Here is what happens at each step and what you will need.

Booking in 4 steps

  1. Choose your destination. Open the page of the island or route you are interested in. You will see which ports have ferries, how long the crossing takes, which companies sail the route and the starting price.
  2. Search. In the "Search ferries" box enter your departure port, destination, dates and passengers, plus your vehicle if you are taking one.
  3. Compare and choose. You will see every available sailing for the day with time, duration, company and price. Choose a conventional ferry or a high-speed boat and your seat type: deck, numbered airline seat or cabin.
  4. Pay and receive your ticket. Payment is made securely on the booking partner's page. Your confirmation and e-ticket arrive by email.

What you will need

  • The full name of every passenger, as written on their ID card or passport.
  • Your email and mobile number for the confirmation and travel updates.
  • For a vehicle: its type, make and registration plate.
  • For a discounted fare: the supporting document (e.g. student card), which is checked at boarding.

Discounts

Greek ferry companies offer reduced fares for children, students, large families, people with disabilities and island residents, as well as early-booking offers and return tickets. Age limits and required documents differ by company, and the available fare types appear when you book.

On the day of travel

  • Be at the port at least 30 minutes before departure, or 60 minutes with a vehicle.
  • Carry your ID card or passport and your ticket or boarding pass — on your phone, or printed if the company requires it.
  • Check which gate your ferry leaves from. At Piraeus the gates are far apart.

Changes, cancellations and bad weather

To change or cancel, contact the booking partner you booked with. Their details are in your confirmation email. Fees depend on each ferry company and fare.

If a sailing is cancelled, for example because of a weather-related sailing ban, the company or partner will inform you. Under Regulation (EU) No 1177/2010 on the rights of passengers travelling by sea, you can choose re-routing on another sailing or a refund of the fare.

Who issues the ticket

Ferryfast is a comparison and information platform and does not issue tickets. Tickets are issued by our certified booking partner on behalf of the ferry company, which operates the crossing. See our Terms of use.
